Prof. Steve Kquofi is an Associate Professor and current Head of the Department of Educational Innovations in Science and Technology (DEIST), Faculty of Educational Studies, Kwame Nkrumah University of Science & Technology, Kumasi (KNUST), Ghana. Prof. Steve Kquofi, currently the Coordinator of Distance Learning programmes (Master of Education and MSc/MPhil Educational Innovations and Leadership Science) at DEIST, received his Ph.D. (African Art and Culture), M.A. (African Art and Culture) and B.A. (Art, Graphic Design option) degrees from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology in Ghana. He currently teaches undergraduate and graduate courses in the Faculty of Art and Faculty of Educational Studies in KNUST. He has a reputation as an artist/ researcher/ professional teacher and an art educator with outstanding record of publications including scholarly articles and books. Steve has been a professional teacher since 1990 and had taught in the basic schools before joining the tertiary institution. He has supervised and examined several students in MPhil/PhD Art Education, Master of Education and MSc/MPhil Educational Innovations and Leadership Science.  Currently, Steve is supervising over 20 students in MPhil Art Education, Master of Education as well as MSc/MPhil Educational Innovations and Leadership Science. Additionally, Steve has supervised and is still supervising several students in MPhil/PhD in African & Culture degree programmes. His areas of expertise are diverse and varied. This expertise includes cultural anthropology; African art, global art history; art education; TVET; museums and monuments studies; socio-cultural practices and environmental aesthetics; traditional ecological knowledge in biodiversity conservation; as well as aesthetics and criticism in sub-Sahara African art. Currently, Steve is researching into how to effectively employ art and aesthetics in environmental protection in sub-Saharan Africa and its implications to art education.  Besides, he is a prolific graphic artist designing for top corporate bodies in Ghana. As an astute art educator and a skilled graphic artist, Steve currently holds an international position as the National Technical Expert in charge of Graphic Design Technology skill area representing Ghana at the WorldSkills International, training the youth to participate in WorldSkills Competitions at the local, national, regional and international levels.
