Mrs. Serwaa Osei Kankam, Chief Administrative Assistant of the Pharmacognosy Department within the Faculty of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences, College of Health Sciences, is a young and energetic woman with a wealth of experience in administrative and managerial skills. She is a reliable team player, dedicated, and results-oriented individual who performs her duties with diligence for excellence in administrative tasks. Mrs.  Osei Kankam holds a BA in Art (Intergrated Rural Art & Industry) and an MBA in Human Resource Management from KNUST. She served her National Service at KNUST Hospital in 2006 as a Records Officer, managing data entry for KNUST staff and students, as well as maintaining records for patients visiting the hospital.  Upon completing her National Service in 2007, she volunteered to continue serving with the hospital to further enhance her administrative and interpersonal skills in Hospital Administration. This opportunity allowed her to collaborate with various departments of the hospital on different schedules.She was in-charge of medical examination for KNUST Staff and Students as well as secondary and tertiary students and employers outside the University. During that period, she also acted as the Director’s secretary and received visitors who called to see the Director as well as performing any other secretarial and administrative functions assigned to her by the Director and the Administrator. Due to her selfless character, she was able to work with most of the doctors, nurses and other staff at the Hospital when the need arose. This afforded her the chance to work with the various departments of the Hospital on various schedules.She joined the University in August 2009 and later was posted to Geological Engineering Department as Snr Adm. Asst. when the Department was manned together with Civil Engineering Department solely by Mr. Amo-Boadu (retired).Because of her good interpersonal relation with staff, students and stakeholders, he taught her much and she was able to acquire more knowledge in administrative and related skills which she is always grateful.Due to her advanced knowledge in administrative tasks and good interpersonal relationship towards her work, she was internally transferred to be in-charge of the Student Affairs Office for the College of Engineering as Principal Admn. Asst. from September 2018 to April 2021.Currently, she is the Chief Administrative Assistant at the Pharmacognosy Department, Faculty of Pharmacy and Pharceutical Sciences, College of Health Sciences after being transferred from College of Engineering on 4th May, 2021.
