About

I am a Senior Lecturer, formerly the Head of the Department of English and now the Head of Department of Language and Communication Sciences, KNUST. My area of specialization is text analysis in literature, traditional and contemporary cultures. I love how language intersects with culture and this has led me to research a lot more in oral literature. I am currently working on the Ghanaian folktale, Anansesem, and the potential it holds for Ghanaian pedagogy, morality and philosophy. I also love working on the literariness and performances of Ghanaian traditional festivals. On the other side is my research in Ghanaian contemporary culture spanning over the period of highlife to that of hiplife.

Research Summary

(inferred from publications by AI)

The researcher's work is centered on the comprehensive study of multiple sclerosis (MS), focusing on its molecular mechanisms, advanced treatment therapies, and innovative imaging techniques. They have significantly contributed to the field by developing interferon-based therapies like fingolimod and natalizumab, as well as B-cell immunotherapy, which are pivotal in advancing MS management. Additionally, they have made strides in advancing retinal OCT technology through specific studies on optic neuritis, demonstrating their expertise in both treatment development and medical imaging. Their research also delves into the immune response, exploring how B-cells trigger T cells to cause disease progression, highlighting a deep integration of biological, clinical, and technological advancements in understanding and treating multiple sclerosis.
