About

Lyndon Nii Adjiri Sackey is a lecturer at the Department of Environmental Science, Kwame University of Science and Technology, Kumasi, Ghana. He holds a Ph.D. Environmental Chemistry and Technology from the University of Chemistry and Technology, Prague, Czech Republic, MSc. Regional Development and Governance from the University of Pardubice, Pardubice, Czech Republic, MSc. and BSc. Environmental Science from Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Kumasi, Ghana and the University of Cape Coast, Cape Coast, Ghana respectively, and HND Science Laboratory Technology from Accra Polytechnic, Accra, Ghana. His area of specialization is in environmental toxicology, ecological risk assessment, bioremediation, pollution control, and water quality assessment. Additionally, he has an interest in operations and maintenance of landfill sites, management of transfer stations, and environmental management among others.Lyndon worked as a research assistant at the University of Chemistry and Technology, Prague, Czech Republic, and also as a Ph.D. guest at the Vrije University in Amsterdam where he worked on the toxicity of microplastics on soil invertebrates. He worked as a landfill supervisor and assistant operations manager at Zoomlion Ghana Ltd and Waste Landfills Company Ltd respectively and has been certified as landfill manager from the Solid Waste Association of North America (SWANA), Canada. He has experience in using aquatic organisms such as algae, duckweed, and daphnia for testing the toxicity of environmental samples (wood and landfill leachates). He was a team member on a World Bank sponsored project for the decommissioning of the Mallam 1&2 dump sites at Mallam-Accra. He also worked as the Principal Investigator on an Internal Grant Agency sponsored project on the toxicity of aged wood leachate to aquatic organisms at the University of Chemistry and Technology, Prague, Czech Republic. A team member of Erasmus + project on an exchange program between, Kwame University of Science and Technology, Kumasi, and University of Chemistry and Technology, Prague on waste management, ecotoxicology, and pollution control. He has published extensively in international peer-reviewed journals on both aquatic ecotoxicology and waste management. He is a member of the Society of Environmental Toxicology and Chemistry (SETAC) and the Ghana Science Association (GSA).
