Dr. Jones Opoku-Ware is a Lecturer at the Department of Sociology and Social Work, Faculty of Social Sciences, College of Humanities and Social Sciences, Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) Kumasi- Ghana. He holds a PhD in Sociology, specializing in Spatial Crime Analysis, Crime Pattern Analysis, Criminal Behaviour, Deviance and Criminology as well as Social Disorganization. He also holds an MSc Development Management from the University of Agder, Kristiansand, Norway. In 2007, Dr. Opoku-Ware received his Bachelor of Arts (Hons) in Sociology and Social Work from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, being the best graduating student for the 2007 Sociology and Social Work cohort. He was subsequently appointed as a Teaching Assistant (TA) from 2007-2008.In 2008, Dr. Opoku-Ware won the prestigious NOMA Scholarship offered by the Norwegian Government for his MSc Development Management studies at the University of Agder in Norway. In 2011, he worked as Field Survey Manager with an NGO, Innovation Poverty-Action (IPA) where he managed a group of field researchers in undertaking a number of international projects especially in the education sector of Ghana. Between 2013-2019, Dr. Opoku-Ware was a Part-Time lecturer with the Christ Apostolic University College (CAUC) in Kumasi where he taught Sociology, Introductory Psychology as well as Dynamics of Success and Personality Development courses. Also in 2013, he was appointed a facilitator on the MSc Development Management Programme at the Institute of Distance Learning (KNUST) where he lectured courses such as Management for Sustainable Development, Monitoring and Evaluation for Development Practitioners and Environment Planning and Assessment. Presently, he is the Programme Coordinator for the MSc Development Management programme at the Institute of Distance Learning where he performs administrative roles related to the effective running of the programme. Academically, Dr. Opoku-Ware has extensive experience with multiple delivery methods of teaching including hybrid, online and face to face and have been an ELearning trainer/facilitator for lecturers and students of KNUST over the years in the use of Learning Management Systems (LMS) for teaching and learning, managing  class and also for undertaking examinations. He has also served as resource person for many media organizations on issues of crime in the country.Beside his professional life, Dr. Opoku-Ware loves to play football, go swimming and also read crime fiction. He is a proud Old Boy of Prempeh College (Amanfoo) in Kumasi.
