Godwin is a senior lecturer at the Mechanical Engineering Department of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST). He holds an MSc degree in Automobile Engineering from Kingston University, London since 2009 with a specialization in electric vehicles. At Kingston University, he studied the effect of energy storage and vehicle architecture on the fuel consumption of hybrid-electric vehicles as part of his thesis. Godwin completed a Ph.D. and BSc in Mechanical Engineering from Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Ghana in 2016 and 2005 respectively.Godwin is a member of the Ghana Automotive Industry Development Council (GAIDC), Chairman of the Technical Committee on Vehicle Standards of Ghana, Secretary to Energy Commission of Ghana electric vehicle baseline study, a member (expert consultant) of the Technical Committee (TC59) of the African Organization for Standardization where he is the task force leader on alternative vehicle propulsion and infrastructure, and work group leader on automotive spare parts standards.He is currently leading the Brew-Hammond Energy Center, KNUST on a ten-month UNIDO project to draw up a National e-Mobility Roadmap, Low emission Transport Standards and Compliance Framework for São Tomé and Príncipe. As a TVET curriculum development expert, Godwin has provided consultancy services for the E4D VET TOOLBOX project for GIZ on two separate projects in 2018 and 2019.
