Dr. Elliot Boateng is an Economist and a Lecturer at the Departement of Economics, Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), Ghana, focusing on Institutional Economics, Food Security, Climate Change, International Trade and Finance, and Environmental Economics. He obtained his PhD in Economics from the University of Newcastle (UoN), Australia. Prior to joining the Department of Economics, KNUST, he worked at UoN School of Business, and Excelsia College (both in Australia), contributing to teaching and research activities. Elliot has a proven record of high-quality teaching delivery in various settings.  He relates well to students in an interactive learning environment and has advanced strategies vital to improving students' critical thinking required to ehance households welfare and business sustainability. He also mentors and supervises Postgraduate theses internally and externally. Not only does Dr Boateng exhibit high-level communication, interpersonal and collaboration skills consistent with the values of the University he lectures, but could also balance demands in research, scholarship, and other community services. He is a fellow at the Strategic Centre for African Research, Engagement, and Partnerships (CARE-P) affiliated with the University of Newcastle in Australia. Elliot is also an assessment expert for the upcoming 7th Edition of the Global Environmental Outlook (GEO-7), by the United Nations Science Division, under the unbrella of the United Nations Environmental Program (UNEP). He doubles as the Lead Author for SDGs 2—Chapter 7 of the GEO-7 initiative—and a member of the Behavioural, Social and Cultural (BSC) Group of UNEP, where he plays a pivotal role in supporting the GEO-7 authors and the overall process. His involvement in these international initiatives underscores his commitment to addressing critical global challenges through rigorous research and collaboration. His publications have been featured in high-impact international journals such as Applied Economics (ABDC: A), Energy Economics ( ABDC: A*), Economic Modelling (ABDC: A), Journal of Cleaner Production (ABDC: A), and Science of the Total Environment (SJR/JCR: Q1).
