Dr. David Nartey Obemah is a Lecturer at the Department of Environmental Science, Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Kumasi, Ghana. He holds PhD in Soil Environmental Sciences from the University of Chinese Academy of Sciences, Institute of Soil Sciences, Nanjing, China, a Master in Engineering in Environmental Science from Lanzhou Jiaotong University, Lanzhou, China and a BSc. Chemistry from Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Kumasi, Ghana.Dr. Obemah is interested in climate change mitigation, environmental bioremediation/mitigation-related research, teaching and community service. He has research interests in Gas emissions (Greenhouse gases, Nitric Oxide and Ammonia) Quantification and Mitigation from field setups and manure composting, Biochar production and application in remediating soil and water contamination from persistent organic pollutants (POPs), pesticides, toxic metals, other xenobiotics as well as soil quality and health improvement. Dr Obemah has extensively monitored and remediated these pollutants in water and soil media. His research also focuses on groundwater pollution control and mitigation (Lysimeter and Column study), wastewater treatment, and solid waste management.Dr. Obemah teaches undergraduate courses at the Department of Environmental Science at KNUST and supervises undergraduate and postgraduate students. He is a reviewer for Frontiers in Sustainable Food Systems, the American Journal of Environmental Science and Engineering (AJESE), and the Ghana Science Association Journals.
