David Forkuor is a Senior Lecturer and a practicing urban and rural geographer in the department of Geography and Rural Development. He has special interest in poverty studies, local governance, civil society organizations, land use planning, and environmental management.  In the past decade, David Forkuor has been teaching courses associated with his research focus and also supervised theses and dissertations at the graduate and undergraduate levels. He has accumulated several research papers in his area of focus and trained six Phd students who have taken various positions in acadmia and industry. Community development engagement has been a strong focus in his academic and professional pursuits. He is a member of reputable professional bodies including the International Society for Development and Sustainability and the Ghana Geographical Association (GGA).
